gullet sizes

Can someone please tell me where you measure the gullet?
Iv been told 2 different ways.. d-d ring or inside at the narrowest point.

So at a guess the inside measurement is 13cms and from Google pics tells me its a medium saddle. So how much bigger would a wide and extra wide be?

By guessing I mean guessing where I should measure, not guessing how wide the gullet is!

It also depends where the D's are placed. It's not an absolute rule but just gives a general estimate of the tree size.

Only the actual angle of the two arms of the headplate to each other tells you the width, anything else is guess work. The only thing that comes close to knowing that exact saddle's width (brands and individual models vary) is working with wither tracings, lots of info on here and around the web on that.
