Instructor got on Mights for the first time last night and declared she had a Shetland mantality, takes the pi**, is unresponsive to leg and hand and has no manners

, he then apparently said he couldn't be bothered and got off.

Would crawl in a hole and howl and cry however this is the first I'v heard of any of it

. She is perfectly mannered on the ground, even swings herself around at gates without being asked now. She is perfect to ride for me and best friend and certainly not unresponsive in the slightest. As for talking the pi**, she is a very very green green 7yo who IMO simply doesn't understand but is getting there in leaps and bounds.

Question is how would you feel about and deal with this situation, I am kind of upset. I wasn't there yesterday evening (friend was riding) and am a bit worried about what was going on for these comments to come out

An instructor who can't be bothered is not worth paying, they are there to help, if he didn't want to ride why get on in the first place? T

There is a difference between and instructor and a good instructor... the good instructor will work towards a solution and not just point out the problems but work through problems either whilst on board or with the origional rider back on.

Sorry but I would not be having any more lessons with this guy - an instructor that 'can't be bothered' isn't doing his job properly and I will not be paying for someone like that!

Any decent instructor will help you and your horse through any problems, find solutions for them and be understanding. This guy sounds like a d!ck

and is not worth your money

Get a new instructor if he can't be bothered, he sounds like he just doesn't respect you! Get someone that will give you confidence, not insult you and your horse!
