Henry has been staying with a dog sitter this week while I've been away, who merrily told me she had fed Henry some pheasant while I was away. Not sure if it was cooked or not, I am so tired at the moment that the floor is actually moving under me every time I stand up and I didn't think to ask.

My question is - if we ever go out working, is he likely to start snacking on anything he picks up?

Not too pleased about the supplementing of the diet either

I've only just realised who you are

Duh. I am sooo blonde sometimes.

I have never had any issues of mine 'snacking' while out working, even though they do get fed game meat

Cool, I just suddenly thought as I was heading home from picking him up. But I am pretty knackered so not in much position to be making rational judgements!

Anyway I digress - did Henry eat random dead things when he was out anyway

- as you know the Max-i-moo is always supplementing his diet with minging dead things

- what stops him the sight of a LIVE bunny or hare ready to chase.......

Spoilt? Otto? I have no idea what you're talking about!!

He's only had Pheasant once. I managed to pick a bird that whatever dog had retrieved it had obviously enjoyed a quick munch on the way. It's breast meat was so mangled and bruised I didn't fancy eating it, so Otto got it

Unfortunately Otto can turn the dials on the cooker, we have to be very careful about switching the oven off at the mains!

Well. at the end of a very tiring day working with his dad in the field, my boy and another hooligan decided to snack on some of the game foolishly left in the back of the car with them. They only ate the one each though and have been no trouble since with either hunting or retrieving game, so it really should not affect your dog too much. When admonishing my hubbie he said "well he's not done it before..." Enough said.
