As long as they work! Not a lab person…. But we use Logan Shepherds whistles, much to the confusion and befuddlement of most other HPR people![]()

As long as they work!
Thank you. So do you think Scout maybe can’t hear me when he’s up on the moor or he just pretends?Labs usually 211.5 or 212
Spanners 210.5 (designed for closer work) or silent (hate them)
The hpr is going to be on the 211.5 just for my sanity.
Thank you, ugh that's annoying! Hopefully you get a run next MondayGood luck! My last 2 runs have been cancelled by storms and we are currently 13th reserve for next Monday![]()

Are you coming over? I think I remember you saying that he was being brought to you. Not sure now.Hopefully I don't, I've organised to collect Aspen a day early instead!

Exciting times ahead. No, I was always collecting him. I was over this week anyway for shooting/trials/training/social visit and it's "only" 3 hours up to Scotland
When is it? Has it happened?I've got a run in a trial![]()
I know! But I like going to trainers but then I lose all confidence in what I’ve done. I liked Steve best tbh.@Clodagh do something differently, and I think that goes for whether the dog is getting it right or wrong. If they’re doing it well don’t flog it to death - we’re all taught with horses to end on a good note, even if that means finishing the lesson early. Likewise if they’re getting it wrong then do something different, so they get an easier task and loads of praise. You’ve trained so many dogs that you know all this - don’t over think it!![]()
Of course you can do it woman! You’re awesome. You’ve just wobbled a bit with Scout being an occasional knob!I know! But I like going to trainers but then I lose all confidence in what I’ve done. I liked Steve best tbh.
I have to look at my lot sitting up behind the gun line on a 500 bird day and remember I can do this.
10th November! When is it? Has it happened?
Well mine moved to NorthumberlandOf course you can do it woman! You’re awesome. You’ve just wobbled a bit with Scout being an occasional knob!
Pick your favourite trainer/s and stick with them (I have just about mastered this now)![]()
Well done. Hares, unpracticed, are difficult things for all dogs. Especially youngsters. So Rafi and my first trial today!
Lovely first retrieve on a hen pheasant that wasn't running but wasn't dead, took a brill line and picked. Second retrieve was a hare shot at other end of line, great line made the area but wouldn't pick ithe's never picked a hare or rabbit before, dog behind struggled too but picked so we were out, but really pleased with him. I bet you can guess what I brought home with me
