Gundog people

If we are adding gear reviews....I got gifted the Pinewood Dog Sports Training jacket for Christmas. on first look, loved it. Fit is good and fastenings are all magnetic on pockets so easy to manage. Great integrated wrist warmers and hand warmer pockets, lots of pockets. Lead clip point.

However, it's not bloody waterproof!! Leaks on the shoulders in a heavy shower. It's also less useful than I imagined for walk up shooting days as although you can get plenty of pheasants in the game pocket is drags backwards bringing the zip/neck upwards which is annoying. Disappointed as most reviews I'd seen were good. It will be fine for training in cold dry weather and drizzle but for €250 I expected much more.

Very disappointing. Waterproof is a must! Your weather must be like mine in the West Country.

Question for you all, toys or no toys for puppy? Not good to allow them to chew/play with them themselves?

Not sure if it would impact the retrieve eventually when moving on to dummies etc. But, I believe it's good to let them carry things around in their mouth, so conflicting advice!

These are my adult dogs toys, she’s pretty proud walking around with them.

Toys, chews whatever they want but I kill the squeakers by poking a skewer through them. Mine have a huge toy basket to take from and play with. Balls and dummies are for training only if you want to train her as a gundog

Have decided a good trainer is like a good divorce lawyer. Every time you go see them you come out feeling positive and in control.

Group training is awesomely boring but happily only because we can already do all the things the others are struggling with. But that’s a good fault! And sitting and watching others run about is always worthwhile.

Dummies again (@druid ?) these ones… anyone know how small they are?

This is the mini (standard 1/2 lb for comparison)IMG_9312.jpegIMG_9313.jpeg

Thank you. Fussy puppy loves it and much as I don’t want to pander to her need for novelty too much I do like it.

I have a few - they're very useful on wet days when you don't want soggy canvas dummies in your vest training several! The mini Mallard, teal, widgeon and partridge are similar sizes - cheapest from Muntjac Trading
