Ive noticed sometimes in the mornings (not every day) that my 9 mth old Lurcher has a really loud gurgly/rumbly stomach. He seems quiet in himself when its happening and refuses to eat, which isnt something new as hes been a very faddy pup. He seems to forget about it when he goes for his walk and it does settle down later on.
What could it be?

Both of my lurchers used to have gurgly stomachs and a day off their food, usually about once a month? They were never sick or had diarrhoea, just massive gurgling all day

I asked the vet a few times and they couldnt give me a reason.

In fact it was only when Talisker was ill last year that I realised he hadnt had it for a while, so perhaps they just grow out of it (he was approx 10 when he died)

I just learned to accept it as a 'lurcher thing'

My lurcher has this occasionally too. It's usually in the morning and doesn't last that long. I usually give her something gentle to digest for breakfast and it goes away.

Thanks for replying. Glad to hear its just a Lurcher thing.
The first time it happened I couldnt believe it was his stomach as it was so loud.
Gina The pup in your sig is gorgeous

Our terrier cross gets this. the vet said it was her body producing an amount of excess acid. She goes off her food and is sick, mainly a nasty yellow colour. we give her a spoonful of gaviscon to neutralise it.

Yeah I used to sit and listen to my lurchers gurgling very clearly when they were on the other side of the room
