Gurkhas win right to stay in UK

This should never have been brought up in the first place.
If they were willing to fight and die for this country, the least we can do is look after them properly.
I'm very glad that decency has prevailed.

Should never have been an issue but so glad its now resolved

I have to admit that I did not even know this was the case until I was working at a Social Services office 3 years ago. A gentleman came in who we regularly paid money to and as I was on duty I went to see him. We chatted and it turned out that he was a former Gurkha who had fought alongside our troops and been injured and subsequently retired from the army. His injury was such that he could not work, he was not entitled to benefits and was struggling to obtain leave to stay in this country. His wife and children were not allowed entry to this country either, so they were forced to live apart. It was shameful. Our country, as a vote of thanks, gave him £35 per week, not on top of anything else, that was it. I hope they can all now look forward to a better quality of life and shame on our government for letting it be so long coming.
