Gut balancer suggestions…

Currently have a very anxious horse on box rest following surgery.

She is on Protexin gut balancer at the moment, but upon reading some research Ive seen it’s possibly not the best one on the market currently.

Any suggestions for alternatives? Preferably want one that will promote the general wellbeing of the gastrointestinal system. If available on subscription would be a bonus!

The science supplements one looks great, but pretty expensive. They do subscriptions though.

My vets are always happy that I use Protexin products and I think they do a great job. So I would stick with the gut balancer at the higher level and maybe add a calmer supplement.

Thank you, I have always used Protexin but it was only after seeing some research done that I questioned if there was better out there! She’s already on a calmer which is working well

Premier performance do a gut supplement with added calmer which seems to help one of mine.

Personally I've had the best results from Protexin.. if you want something a bit more, I'd suggest the protexin Acid Ease - I've found it's like the balancer but stronger

I tend to go down the herb route when supplementing my two (but that's more cause I like to know exactly what is going in my horses feed buckets cause I've seen far too many off the shelf supplements with little to miniscule amount(s) of the ingredient(s) that you actually want!) so I'd be leaning towards marshmallow root, slippery elm, liquorice, boswellia etc for gut health. An added bonus is that some of the herbs have other benefits to other parts of the body too

If you are wanting to go down the off the shelf supplement route - I'd go for Feedmark or Science Supplements x

I rate yeasty magic supplements. They sent me a surprisingly large sample to try when I enquired and it really helped mine who was struggling with his digestive system at the time.
