Has your gut feeling ever been wrong?

I've wanted horse A since I first saw him advertised about 10 months ago. Ummed and ahhed for a while and then didn't get him as family stuff happened and it didn't feel like the right time.

Yesterday I had a look at him and the owners other stock, and I saw horse B and loved him.

I would be gutted if either were sold to someone else, but can't afford to buy and keep both. My gut is telling me horse B, but I'm torn because I've wanted A for so long :/

My gut feeling scares me sometimes, never wrong saying don't go out in car just now/ go down to a DIY stable there is something wrong(horse cast)

Gut feeling is something you can trust most of the time, so I say go with it. 2007 I was searching the net when on the very day my first mare was PTS, the little dun filly came up and kept popping up in my search, when i phoned up to inquire she had the same white leg and her stable me the same. That was it I was sold and went to view - followed up with vets then she moved it.

I'm good at going with negative gut feelings! But struggle to trust them when they're good :p

ohhhh i so agree with that lol, I know you say family stuff stopped you from getting A but you also said it didn't feel right, that was a gut feeling that A wasn't the one, which means that B is the one, go buy that horse (we want piccies too )

Taking emotion out of the equation and appreciate the market is slow at the moment but I'd question why horse A was still for sale 10 months later?!

The owner predominantly breeds spottys and coloureds, he's a bay with no markings :p his growth has also been fairly patchy, so the estimated height on his advert has changed several times

ETA I did ask how much interest there had been in him, and apparently everyone likes him, just not enough to buy

Me too...regardless of spotty's surely they don't advertise with a picture of a spotty, so people know what they are going to look at. If it had been that right 10 months ago, he's already be yours as when you really feel something, you just make it happen.

I would go with horse B.

Look at it this way...you are justifying getting horse A. You are making excuses for him. You're not having to do that with horse B...you just like him and that's all there is to it.

It's a no brainer to me. But of course, the decision is yours xxx

Go with your gut, which in this case seems to be horse B.
I think it's a bit odd that horse A is still for sale after 10 months

They're advertised on the breeders website, rarely on other sites which is why his popularity has probably been affected!

You're right, I have now emailed her to sort out a deposit for horse B. For some reason I was feeling guilty, which is daft because he doesn't know (or care) whether I'd buy him or not!
