My horse is lame in his off hind. He had recurrent lameness in this leg before and we thought we had it sorted - but he has gone lame again. I would say about 4/10.

I am gutted.

Probably a mix of hard ground and deep school - cant win!

Gave him a bute last night and going to start him on buteless and see how it goes. Have also just bought some cortaflex to use.

It has got alot to do with warmbloods doing too much at a young age (not by me I hasten to add)

My poor baby.

Why does it have to be the same blinking leg?!

If its an old reoccuring injury try linseed oil - worked wonders on Ty - and cheaper than cortaflex!

Sorry FF. I hope it is'nt anything serious and he is up and running again quickly. You are more than welcome to come and ride Bailey whenever you like

Aw thanks guys. I hope he is better soon or I might be taking you up on the offer.

He is on oil permanently hon - I havent got the money to keep him in cortaflex - though might have too if this carries on. He has been sound all winter - but quite bad on the left rein last night. He is out today so will see at the weekend what he is like.

Trouble is he is so genuine he would never make a fuss.

I think the suddeness of the ground hardening up hasn't helped - if that makes sense?

Asti was only in front shoes, and was fine one weekend, crippled the next. She ended up with a bad abscess from bruising and we've had to put her back shoes on again - instant recovery!

I know thats different to yours but when I lunged her last night (on the field) she didn't look quite "right" at first, possibly a bit stiff, but I think the weather turning as quickly as it has and the ground going from mush to rock in about a week - hasn't given the horses a chance to get used to the change in going.

Or does that sound like utter pants???

Have put Asti on a "joint" oil too to see if it helps.

Hope he's just tweaked something minor and comes right for you x
