Took him over to my bosses to use her school. I have started cantering him in my field at home but because it is on a slope I haven't been able to canter circles or right round the field, so took him to work to get him cantering properly.
He was a star. We cantered right round the school and did lots of circles. It was hard work as he needs alot of reassurance and leg to keep him going but he was going so well we decided to see how he did jumping. He has Never jumped with a rider on.
We put some canter poles out first which he tried to jump and then a tiny cross, blocks on there sides. Which he popped over nicely a couple of times so we put the blocks on their ends so the cross was slightly higher. He tried to run out the first time and ended up jumping the block so whisked him straight round and he jumped it properly but tried to wiggle into it so did it once more which he did prefectly so called it a day at that as he was very tired by then.
Ok nothing exciting it was all of 6" off the ground but not bad for his first ever go with a rider.
I am very very proud of him. Sadly no pics as the camera battery was dead but will get some next time.

That is brilliant to hear!!!
I bet you are so proud of him, you going to keep doing little and often to build up his cofidence?
I think he would make a fab jumper, bless him.

keep it up , cobs can make ace jumper also they a big boned so if they hit anything, e.g. xc jump they wont be lame the next day !!

Thanks guys.
I plan to go over to my bosses once a week for a while so I can get him jumping properly. I need to improve his fitness as well.
