This is a copy of an e-mail a friend has sent to H&H - I have copied it as she has worded it far better than I ever could! However I agree totally with everything she says - perhaps if anyone else feels the same they could also send an e-mail.
Sir - This year's Foxhunter Final had everything; nailbiting excitement, a nervewracking jump-off and the bookies' longshots as the deserving winners. The atmosphere in the main arena was electric - and even those who watched on TV said that the thrill of the competition was brilliantly captivated by the excellent Sky Sport coverage.
In brief then, a drop of the very best of British showjumping with a fairytale ending for one of the sport's grassroots competitors, Simon Nicholson and his glamorous grey British-bred stallion Marcolas G, one of only three British horses in the competition.
So why did H&H, as sponsors of this prestigious class, not make the most of this charismatic partnership by featuring them prominently on the front cover of 11th Oct issue rather than relegating them to the bottom lefthand corner?
I don't wish to take anything away from Simon Cuddy's cob, but I do feel that here was a real opportunity to promote British Showjumping at its most exciting and, crucially, British breeding - Marcolas G already has progeny on the ground and is a prospective international star of the future.
What a shame this opportunity was missed.
