Okay, the start list are up for today's classes at HOYS, so what's everyone's predictions on who's gonna be crowned the H&H Foxhunter Champion this year ?

Personally think it's gonna be a very close call, but two or three horses really stand out for me. Billy Burr is a horse with a very bright future and already has experience at the higher levels, he also has the advantage of a very experienced jockey on board. Limelight de Breve won the 7yo class last night as well as being well placed in the World Breeding Champs at Lanaken a few weeks ago. Sjarmette is a class act too, and will go well against the clock if he's in the shake-up at the end.

So, for what it's worth :-

1st = Billy Burr
2nd = Limelight De Breve
3rd = Sjarmette

For some reason I really think Sjarmette will do well, I like Bill Burr but Will has rotten luck, so I think he'll be unlucky

. I really like Amaryllis and if clear the time will be hard to beat... I predict:

1st Sjarmette
2nd Amaryllis
3rd Limelight De Breve

There are some good horses arent there? I also like Billy Birr.. therefore my prediction is..

1st Billy Birr
2nd Two Mills Seander
3rd Sjarmette

I agree with JH58 that if Amaryllis goes clear, then it will be a fast jump off!!

Cant wait to watch it live tonight on SKY!! Yay!

They all seem to be jumping well too, with LLDB winning the 7yr old yesterday and Sjarmette also getting a high placing, plus Amaryllis was 3rd in the NC final.....It's going to be one to watch I think!!

I'm excited

Theres bound to be some hard luck stories too! It will be great to watch it live!

The youngest rider in the class is Coral Mowbray - she's only 17 and is first to go... good luck Coral!!

Ahh thats a real shame

Still, at least you can relax and enjoy watching the coverage of the rest of the show

It would be really nice for an 'outsider' to win it, and it's a real mixed field this time isn't it? Some horses seem to have loads of experience under their belt and others not much at all....

We'll see I guess!!

I was surprised to see Billy Burr start in the first International class of the show today. I can only assume he was giving the horse a look at the arena before tonights final. Still, he went clear and that was in a 1.45m so it's looking good. I wouldn't be surprised to see the horse withdrawn from the JO though

Billy Burr will be a good choice if he goes clear, but you know Will's luck, especially when the pressure is on, he seems quite unlucky!

Hmm, whatever happens, it will be a close call I think.

Would be nice for Will to win on a homebred horse though.....

You can get them switched back on in an instant and then cancel them the following month (although you've got to consider Olympia too

he jumped the JO though admittedly went round for the nice clear and did so! A nice double clear this morning can only be positive for this evening as long as the horse is happy to jump 2 classes in the day, which presume he must be as otherwise Will wouldn't have started him in the class this morning

As I wrote on an earlier thread I think if the class had still been in the 2-jump-off format which is better at sorting out the real jumpers, Billy Birr would probably have been favourite. Will's won the class twice before and obviously has plenty of confidence in the horse. However in the current format there's more chance of one of the very fast horses winning e.g. Two Mills Seander, Amaryllis van de Heffink, Maestro de Rend Peine, Limelight de Breve, Sjarmette - all of whom have very good records. I also like Senator W and Jools. I'm not a great one for betting and really wouldn't like to predict the 1-3 on this occasion - it is a good field.

Oh heck, I really want to say perm any 3 from those I named, but if you're forcing my hand I'll go for 1) Amaryllis van de Heffink (she's won every class bar one that I've seen her in), 2) Sjarmette 3) Billy Birr.

I can't wait - I must admit in a jump off I rather fancy Billy and Senator W. The Know family have always had some very super horses.
