I was reading the veterinary article in H & H issue on 31st August. There was a report of a survey of 121 warmblood horses that had been examined for foot lameness and had uneven feet. The phrase I was interested in said

"The deep digital flexor tendon passes around the back of the navicular bone before it joins on to the bottom of the pedal bone within the hoof. Where the foot was more upright, the tendon was found to be more compact and denser."

Isn't this good? A more upright, compact foot is what the barefoot trimmer is aiming for.

The survey didn't say which foot the lameness was in, the more upright one or the other one, which might have been interesting too.
