I used to scroll in every day. Now I click in and out!!!

If a news item was interesting, I could find it easily, now it is a search. TBH I can't be bothered. What a shame.

Anyone else stopped viewing?

Thanks for the feedback. Can you be a bit more detailed about what you don't like about it? The new site now shows many more news stories on the homepage than previously so I would have expected it would be easier for you to scroll through and find what you want in terms of news. We wanted to make the site easier to use, not more difficult, so your comments are really important to us if that's not what you are finding. Look forward to hearing from you.

As I said.

I used to go into News and click on the subject from a list, probably most days. Not now.

For example I was interested in the Melanoma research as I have four grey Shagya's and a cream dun Highland.

I could not find the article easily and had to spend some time searching for it. So I don't bother to look for items of passing interest any more, they have to be really important for me to search for them.

I don't like the layout, first you have two stories side by side then a list for a while then back to two side by side. My eyes go all over the place and take in nothing (could just be me mind). Doesn't seem to be any logical grouping (I struggled to find the melanoma news but got it first time from clicking through from the forum). I would prefer a attention grabbing headline and a few words of text rather than a stock photo with every story.

Just find it a bit of a muddle. If I can read a list I can skim read then click on the one I am interested in. Now I seem to be clicking too much and my attention wanders.
 
Hi, On my laptop I have to scroll down a whole page past all the adds of horses for sale before I find the latest horse and hound news, if I wanted to buy a horse I would go to that section.

Also on my I-Pad, the short cuts bar menu for Buy/sell, News, Blogs, Forum, etc. doesn’t show.
 
How weird, mine is still in one long list I can scroll down easily. I'm using Firefox on a desk pc if that makes any difference. It doesn't look much different to me at all unless I'm looking in the wrong place (clicking on the scrolling news bar above the forum?)
 
scrolling news bar is fine it is the new layout if you click news (top left). Normally I love new things but this is a bit of a muddle (to me anyway).
 
Gotcha! Just tried it and my only complaint would be it doesn't open on a new tab like the scrolling bar did. Perhaps it's because I only use my computer not a phone or tablet so it's not scrunched up for me but it's just like a daily paper layout so I don't mind it - but I never used the old page anyway, only the scrolling bar so not the best person to judge!
 
I agree it's def not easier to navigate. You have to find your way past all the horse for sale ads. It's a shame it's turned more into a classifieds site. The one thing that was so good about H&H is the quality news and articles and now it's like an auto trader site!!!!
 
Thanks to everyone for their feedback.

Your comments about the layout of the news pages are very helpful and I will see whether it is possible to revert to a more simple list layout as everyone seems agreed the that two articles side by side interupt the flow of the page.

The comment about the top nav on iPad. If you click on the Buy & Sell link, the full nav should then flow down the screen for you to use. If that doesn't happen please let us know on this thread.

Re the comments about the classifieds at the top of the homepage, this is to encourage more people to use the classifieds section of the website. I am sorry if you don't like it, but I'm afraid this is here to stay. Classifieds are very important for us in terms of generating revenue and the website only has a future if it makes money.
