Ha ha!! Horse gives the middle finger to Pat Parelli!! tee hee!!

I found it more concerning than funny :(
Scaring them young horses in the name of showmanship? I thought Parelli was supposed to be about developing a natural bond with the horse?
Bloody idiots :(

I would just like to point out I do not find the treatment of the horses funny at all. I think it is horrid and don't understand what the problem is with breaking in a horse slowly & carefully.

What I do find funny however is to see PP on his stupid cowboy ass. He deserves it and I hope it hurt.

Poor ponies :(

I did think the competition was stupid and a little cruel until I saw this one (the winner of 2011):

I mean ok started too fast but WOW and the horse doesnt look bothered at all, and clearly understands and trusts the rider, a "bond" if you like :)

great clip!
Love RTTH - apparently the couple that started it used to train horses for Hollywood films. Pleased to see Chris Cox win this year - he is awesome!

Lord, they're a bunch of T*******.....

completely agree!! glad his showmanship has finally started to fall down round his ears!! with and I think it was Robert Whitakers horse he tried to get the bridle on and ended up doing some things that werent exactly in-keeping with the whole natural horsemanship thing!

Anyone who takes part in a colt starting competition to do it within a set period of time needs their head examining IMHO. Its purely for egostistical purposes - I'm sure one of Mr Parelli's quotes used to be "take the time it takes".

I used to think Clinton Anderson was alright- not anymore
who can f up a horses education the fastest? the fact that the whole thing is marketed as a competition is even worse :( this is an animals future they are messing with

Parelli did another competition like this a few years back, the competitors had 2.5 hours to back an un-handled 2 year old in front of a crowd of 2,500 people.

What an excellent introduction those poor horses had to humans :(

I wonder why he took part, he is well over 50 and must not be as agile as the younger men. I would not have thought that he had anything to prove, he has been very successful, thought he had given up riding bronks!

How anyone can be behind Parelli is beyond me, they are a bunch of egotistic, money driven cowboys, and i don't mean cowboys because of the hat either. But hey, that's just my opinion... what do i know!

Im not even going to bother to click on that video link.

I know what utter c**p awaits me, and after that Catwalk abuse, and the Linda and the blind horse and that dreadful loading a horse video on youtube, Ive seen enough thankyou.

The guy has no empathy and no feel.

I do think parelli is just really really weird! However the guy on the grey in the first vid wasnt as bad as i was expecting getting on, its just he then had to go and wave ropes at it, poor horse looked so confused, 1 min he's ok, the next he's being scary! The first chesnut with pat on just got fed up going in circles, why start with that? The guy on the chestnut in the later video obv was doing something right as the horse was so chilled, i'd have liked to have seen his start session.

Wished I hadn't looked at, just backing my two dressage youngsters, on my own, no one to help on the ground. Let's hope I get a better response from my horses!:
