Some of you will know my daughter broke her elbow badly in July following a fall from her pony, resulting in surgery, she has been out a few times on the pony since, but is very nervous, today my friend and I decide to take her out and give her a lovely Saturday morning hack, my friend on her lovely TB, me on my new mare and daughter on little Welsh pony, all going well until me walk straight into the Staghounds.

Daughter terrified and crying, but we said come on you can do it,we plodded on and kept bumping into little groups of horses, then pony decides to be a very naughty pony and not go up a track, so to give my daughter confidence we got her to get off, and friend jumps on board pony to teach her she can't get away with it, so my daughter is leading my mare, and I am leading the TB, all fab and we are heading home, meet loads of car followers who were friendly and helpful, when suddenly a car hammers around the corner, asked him to slow down and he sped past my daughter, and started revving his engine next to me and friend, no way on this earth could he get through as followers on other side of the road.
He jumps out, and starts having a go, to which we saw red and were screaming and shouting back at him, he said he has grown up with horses blah blah, and hates the hunt, I said we have a scared 12 yr old, we are doing out best to get home away from the hunt, he said well yeah it's obvious you are not with them etc etc... I said well just go you are blocking the road, he ranted about the hunt were, long story short he went on his way, we have his plate and witnesses and have reported him. I would just like to say how wonderful the hunt were, they came and found us and said sorry we got caught up with them, and do we need anything, can they help us home?
People are so fast to condemn the hunt, but they were absolutely wonderful and really looked after us out on our hack.
Daughter is secretly proud of herself as she trotted home with the field behind her and I think it may have given her some confidence :-)

Sounds like your daughter did bad! I would be terrified in that situation too. Well done to you all and thumbs up for the hunt x

Really pleased to hear you reported this chap. It doesnt matter what his strength of views are on hunting, he can't be allowed to use a vehicle as an offensive weapon, especially involving a child!

Great news that she is now an accidental thruster and a hard woman to hounds :-DDD

make sure you report him to the police, had a bad driver scare my daughter many moons ago, he was actually hanging out his window screaming (not shouting actually screaming!)
police went to his door and clipped his wings :)
glad your girl is feeling better , hope she feels well proud of herself x

So inconsiderate to this person to do such a horrid thing, glad your all ok and it good you have witnesses. Fingers crossed he will be getting a knock on his door later.

Well done and dont let this idiot get away with it. Follow it through and make sure he gets a visit, even if its from a couple of tea makes (PCSO's)

Congrats to the daughter, next time she wont get off and will tell little stroppy pony to get a grip and that your daughter will look after her so she doesnt have to worry and nap :D

hehe pony wasn't napping as such.... just being a pony and saying we are going away from home, I want to go home, lazy little thing.... note to self, always have a leadrope on the saddle!!!! XX
