Hack or Hunter "type"

Right....... Miniature horses can come in many different forms from the draught type ( the more heavy weight ) to the TB/Arabian ( the more refined weight ) I have qualified Inky for the mini HOYS and the classes are seperated into "types" I know he's not the TB/Arabian OR the draught type so i have a choice of "Show Hack" or "Hunter" type.

Now here is the question.... Which one is he!!! I know many wont have experience of minis but the miniature horse is supposed to represent the stature of its larger counterpart. Does anyone have any experience of Hacks or hunters who can explain the different between the two???
I have attached some pictures for you to see if this helps... Just ignore his size and imagine he is alot larger and decide which one he is!!!

Personally I'd say show hack as he has such a fine head.

Difficult one as he probably falls somewhere between the two. Have you had a look at some of the other minis in the various classes? Perhaps the best thing would be to be guided by how other people categorise their minis. Personally I would put him in Show Hack. He is truly gorgeous by the way!

The problem i have is that there has never been these classes in any shows i have been to so i cant see the different types. The first time i will see them is at the show and i have to decide before then!!! I have been told by two judges different things so am really confused!!!

I think hack too, agree with Meltdown, it's difficult but that would be my choice

Shows photos of their mini ponies and the classes they have been placed in. There are a couple of 'hunter' types and a 'hack' type. I would say Inky is definitely a hack from looking at that.

He's defo a show hack type - he's too fine to be classed as a hunter type - his head would be larger, his body and legs generally chunkier, and he'd probably have a longer body. He is beautiful! Best of luck at HOYS!
