I have a horse who jumps best with virtually no hand, just seat and leg. Would like to try him in a hackamore but have no experience of them or which one to try, there are so many! Any advice or opinions please.
If he jumps off hardly any hand you would rather have him in a scawbrig or dr cook, rather than a mechanical hackamore will although doesnt act on the mouth acts on the nerves of the nose and poll and can be extremely harsh.
I have a horse who jumps around BE Intermediate in a really bendy rubber snaffle and that's still too much for him... I asked WFP about it and he recommended and english hackamore (as opposed to the more european types)
