Nope but just went for it this morning and it was great, hair on his nose slightly ruffled but apart from that good steering and brakes! Very happy! Wasn't sure about fit and what to expect but he was really good.
I had a hackamore (a cheap sinthetic one), as his bit rubbed his face a lot but I found that it was always getting in the way of his cheeks or the curvs of his mouth and if I made it bigger it just slid further down ? Maybe I should've got a leather one to hold it up but still x
I always have a hackamore in my wardrobe. My mare always hacksout in it no problems, even my first mare loved hers. Its my way of giving them a break from the bit when they wear a bit all week.
What sort of tips are you after?? fitting steering?? braking??.
You mustn have the nose bit too tight, the curb only comes into place when you pull the reins. You can laways add some sheepskin to it but it should not rub if its fitted corretly.
When you come to buy one try getting one like my mares its the picture here the ends are round and smooth not straight edged & cheap like allot of them the ends are slightly rounded and the hackamoore has a brass looking tinge
