Hacked out on Vardi again today. He was wearing his big boys bridle with his new double broken lozenge bit and it was good to have more in the way of brakes!
Today we went through the parkland and he was a total star with everything he encountered with only a little jump at the scary male jogger in the flappy plastic coat who came hurtling round a corner.
He definately likes to be in front and gets quite narked when other horses lead although he will do it you can just tell he is a little pissed about having to follow.
We need to work on getting him to sloooooooow down and realise that it is not necessary to go everywhere at marching speed so we had lots of slow counting of one two three four to bring him down and it worked. Everything at the moment is REALLY INTERESTING lol and needs to be looked at but not scary if he hesitates a little it only takes a little leg pressure to have him walking past with no worries.
Next week I am being threatened with going into the forest with two other riders......should be interesting
Oh and I forgot to take the Rescue Remedy today remembered 40 mins into the ride came back to find the shetland had had the peppermint prepared with it and was suitably zen for once!
