Are you mobile? There is some nice hacking further south, near to Buckland. I'm mainly familiar with the other side of the A420, Buckland Warren is nice to hack around and there are some great routes down towards the ridgeway.
I'm stabled at Little Coxwell, near Faringdon, and we have minimum road hacking to get to bridleways, quite a horse-friendly area.
