(I've tried the regional board but have had no replies so reposting here.)

Is there anyone here who knows about the hacking around Much Marcle, specifically around Lyne Down? I can't see many (any?) bridleways on the map so I was trying to find out whether there are any permissive arrangements. I see that they hold some eventing at Homme House, does anyone know if it is possible to get permissive access to ride on the estate? Thanks in advance for any local knowledge that might be out there :)

This is just an anecdote, but I was once told that no one bothers much about bridlepaths in Herefordshire, as they all go hunting in winter and just go anywhere.

As for the estate and permissive riding, do a bit of an internet search and if that doesn't find anything then just go and ask the estate manager. Assure them that you will not be galloping all over their crops and through the livestock and respect the ground. Although sometimes it is just easier for them to say no, you might be lucky and find a sympathetic hearing.
Remember that large estates usually do a lot of shooting in winter.

The way to find bridlepaths is look on the County Council's website which should have the Definitive Map where you can look up the county parish by parish. There are anomalies on the OS maps, where the county border is between Worcestershire and Herefordshire bridlepaths change to footpaths. Mmm

I have looked on the OS map and you are right, there aren't any bridlepaths . Are there many other riders in the immediate area.
