Hacking in County Durham?

Hi there,

My boyfriend and I have been thinking of buying a property in County Durham, in between Westgate and Eastgate, but looking at the Ordnance Survey maps of the area I can't see any nearby bridleways, only footpaths. Does anyone know if there is decent riding in this area - the house is perfect in every other way, but I don't want to get there and find there's nowhere to ride! Any help/advice much appreciated.

I may be being dim here but I have no idea where you mean by eastgate / westgate!

Sorry - should have been more specific! It's inbetween the villages of Westgate and Eastgate which are along the A689 about ten miles west of Wolsingham. Pretty much in the middle of nowhere so I would have expected some good riding but seems not!
