Well Yesterday my mummy turned up at the field and announced that we were going for a hack on our own, she told me that I had to be a very good boy and that if I was I would get a nice juicy Carrot.

She tacked me up and off we went, I was quite worried about the whole idea so I walked very, very quickly just so the scary monsters didn't have time to jump out and bite me. Mum seemed quite pleased about this though and was muttering something like 'at least he's going forward' to herself, not really sure what all that was about but anyway....

We got about half a mile down the road and we came across a HUGE Metal thing with 4 round bits of something attached to it, I could see it in the distance and it wasn't moving so I was sure it would get me if we tried to walk past. I decided it was best to head back to my field where I would be safe, I turned round as quickly as I could and was just about to head for home when mum shouted at me and tapped me with that funny long pink thing she holds. She told me to 'stop being such a baby and to get on with it as it was only a car (whatever one of them is

)' I tried telling her that I was getting on with it, I was getting on with getting home but she wasn't having any of it and started waving the funny pink thing around again. I decided to be a very brave boy and was thinking about that nice juicy carrot she promised so I crept past it as quietly as I could so I didn't wake it up, I didn't want it to eat my mum as who would feed me then?? She kept talking to me as it I was a 2 year old as I was walking past, well heelllooo, I'm 14 you know!!

Anyhow we got past the scary metal thing and headed up the hill, I started walking really fast again as I till wasn't to happy about the whole idea of being out without my buddies. All of a sudden we came across the strangest sight I have EVER seen, right in the middle black hard stuff I was on (I think it's called a road?) were 3 giant feathery things, they looked like the pheasants that I share the field with but these were much bigger and had loads of really bright feathers. Well that was that, I slammed on my hooves, I wasn't going past them for any amount of juicy carrots, I was heading for home again! I was so, so scared but again mum kept waving that long pink thing about trying to make me go past them, I really tried to tell her that it wouldn't work, I even waved my front legs in the air which she really doesn't like. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse they did. The big scary metal thing came past and I really lost the plot a bit then, they were all after me at once! I think mum realised that talking to me like a 2 year old and waving the pink thing around really wasn't going to work so she got of me (thank god for that, she's a heavy lump you know!) and lead me past the 3 huge feathery things, by this time they were making some funny noises as well so they were even mire scary. I still wasn't very happy and I was ready to run for home if they made a move towards me but luckily we got past in one piece, mum told me I big brave boy even though slightly silly at times, how rude

Mum got back on and off we set again, I decided that there was no way I was going to go past the big feathery things again so thought I had better keep walking rather then do the spinning around and heading for home thing that I do to wind my mum up.

We went for quite a long ride and she told me I was a very good boy and that she was really pleased for me, despite me pulling like a train (whats one of them?) when we cantered. We got home alive, I still had all 4 legs and my mum was still with me so at least I knew I would get fed that night.

She gave me lots of kisses and I got my big juicy carrot so at least it was all worth while

Dear Silly Nappy Horse (sorry but what kind of a name is that???)

I dont like those big white boxes on wheels too much, they scare the pants off me )well ok they scare the rugs off me!).
What were those feathery things? Are they like my mums chooks? Mum has two HUGE chooks called Hale and Pace. Pace chased my dad and tried to beat him up, so you are quite right to be scared of things with feathers!
Maybe you should try galloping really fast. I have been practising this in my field. Its fun!
Failing all else, if your mum wont listen you can only do one thing......POGO!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Little Stig,

Mummy has told me all about you, she said your quite famous whatever that means.

Mum calls me the silly nappy thing, I think it's because I like to spin around a lot and head for home although I thought nappies were what those noisy mini people wore?

The Feathery things were very scary, they looked like birdcilla! I heard mum call them Pea Cocks when she was cursing them saying that they shouldn't be on the road, I think she was scared of them too.

I may try the galloping things next time, I need to keep mum on her toes, hopefully if I am naughty again she will think that I am ill and let me have another holiday!

Love Charlie xx

Dear Silly Nappy Horse, I know what you mean! Luckily for me, my new mum hasn't made me go out on my own (yet). I get to hide behind Perky, a Haffy that doesn't seem to realise everything is out to get us. I mean, sheep-who invented those? Cars I can deal with - I'm a townie through and through. Cows? Forget it! Chickens? Eeeek! And every time I try to veer homewards there's that rotten left rein stopping me...I'll have a breakdown, I know I will...
Best wishes, Brady
