I've had the new bobbo about two months now. Although he bolted with me on our second outing, so far things have been going relatively well. I've been taking him hacking once a week with two friends and he is definitely improving. However, we've been having problems with his head. I intially worried that he was head shaking, but as he's got more familiar with his surroundings he now does only does it as soon as he notices that we're on the homeward straight and have come to the conclusion that he just wants me to give him his head and let him gallop home.
We've put a running martingale on, which is helping, but any ideas on how to curb this would be very helpful? :)

Hi
Re my past posts my horse has bolted with me before now - in March and i have only just started hacking her on my own!
What breed is she, what bit is she in? My horse regularly asks for her head on the way home - either ignore it or school on the way home so it takes her mind off getting home the quickest way poss:)

Do you tend to take your leg off when she is going home? If you do, then try making sure that you don't do this, keep her going forward into the bridle, with lots of half halts, and sometimes a complete halt, only moving off when she is standing nicely, that way she will have something to concentrate on and will learn not to rush.
