I had a lovely autumn sunshine hack yesterday. While I was pootling along I got thinking and realised the following....
I am not bombproof! :p I had thought that I was a bit lacking in confidence sometimes. Thats not entireley true, I think I am developing a bit of a traffic phobia. I am actually really worried that someone driving like an idiot is going to take the legs off my horse. Now, my boy is OK in traffic. Not perfect, he will shake and prance about if really noisy trailers, tractors, motorbikes etc go past but he is better than I give him credit for. I think coming on here sometimes and reading some of the horror stories doesn't necessarily help. Oh, and I go out hi-vized up to the eyeballs as well! I think I need to have a word with myself. :o
Secondly, I have an autumn/winter horse! He goes SO much faster and walks out more whent he temperature drops! Give him sunshine and flies and he would rather snooze in the shade :D
And finally...what on earth would I do with my days off if I didn't have horses? I have too many horses :p I have a full time job and before and after work pretty much consists of horses and then the 2 days off a week I get are filled with doing all the stuff I didn't have time to do on the days when I work. May be I need to get out more but I really have no idea of what I would fill my days with if it wasn't horses... shopping and daytime telly anyone!

We're the same! I hate it when its so hot the horses are sweating before we've even left the yard! We had a gorgeous hack in the crisp sunshire yesterday and it was just bliss. My mare is definately an autumn horse too, especially as she may be a chubby cob but she's a hunter at heart!

Mine is retired but is yours a cob?? My cob was a slow coach in summer far too hot etc and flies well that was just an excuse to do less...Winter was a different horse speedy. The road just keep at it they do get bored eventually with the cars and noise. But its a bit like children I just dont think u ever stop worrying really...i miss my hacks so enjoy them.(I never found another so just look after my retiree now)
