I take a schooling whip with strands of hi-vis tied to the end and stick it out at a right angle to deter drivers (and cyclists!) from getting too close

I tried googling for "horse riding pocket belt", the most descriptive term I could think of, but I just saw loads of belt pouches worn by people carrying saddles. That kind of googling is a little bit dangerous for me, because I somehow always end up on Pinterest's pages for "equestrian fashion", full of pictures of comely maidens wearing high boots and jodhpurs. :rolleyes3:

I ran into that friend of mine when she came to muck out across the street, and she was wearing the thing I wrote about. It's made by a company called Laboa (yes, Google suggested that I might prefer to see Labia :rolleyes3:)...

The site only wants to show me French, you might do better.

Spent a good amount of my life in a desert and have had the misfortune of being lost overnight, so I over-prepare like crazy.

At minimum, I take my phone with wallet case (ID, medical info, and cash), keys (with swiss army knife and firestarter attached), a hoof pick, and water.

For rides longer than 2 hours, or if I'm going deep into unfamiliar territory, I pack a poncho, small flashlight, paracord halter, water purifying tabs (prob something I don't need here but just to be safe), spare polos, treats in case I need to bribe the horse, a few granola bars, mini first aid kit, and a backup power bank for my phone.

Might not look cool riding around with a small backpack but I take no chances with the prospect of spending a night in the wilderness any more. Even though there's no wilderness to speak of around me!

I hack on my own most of the time, particularly in the summer, getting the hunters fit.

I take my phone.

On fun rides, I take my phone and the organisers tend to hand out a contact phone number, so I'll have that stashed somewhere.

A bumbag would drive me insane. It's annoying enough in the summer trying to find somewhere to put my phone, let alone anything else.

I thought a bum bag would be irritating but I’ve recently started using a running belt. It’s only big enough to fit my phone, keys and a few polos but it’s slim and doesn’t bounce around.
