Had a bash at agility

Been once so far and loving it! He was mostly off lead the whole time and bombed up and down the A frame like it wasn't even there lol.
We even managed a successful off lead sequence of little jump, tunnel, little jump and then turn a corner, little jump! Very pleased with him for his first go and we both had fun!
 
Its wonderful fun, just finished our 6week course and test with Darcy and she past with flying colours. Darcy is brilliant but is handicaped by me who cannot keep up with her but despite my worst efforts she did brill. On our test we had to jump 3 jumps through the tunnel up the A frame over 2 more jumps up the stairway, another jump and through the hoop. All off the lead and in pouring rain I was so proud of her especially a dog which ran up to her in the middle of the course and she didnt kill it just ignored it. That for me was the highlight ignoring the dog as she was fear aggressive when I first had her.
 
Well done great videos and he is enjoying himself which is what its all about.

Its lovely seeing other breeds giving it a go and as for the screeching I would rather hear the owner than the dog.:D

Vislak came with me one evening and videoed it but I have made her hang on to it as I was doing my windmill iimpression. Maybe we could cut that bit out and show it.
 
Christ, I never worry about the stupid stuff I'm doing when I wack vids on here, you lot are used to it :p
... If you do manage to edit or w/e I'd love to see, its good to have stuff to aim for :)

That's actually really impressive for his first go, I still can't 'park' R and call him over stuff, he insists on following me about with his nose in my crotch. :o
 
Dont use me as a example, I am crap ask Vizzy its Darcy thats brilliant. If someone wanted to compete her at some stage I would be delighted. The classes start again in January but I wont go until the weather gets warmer so might sign up for the beginner unless the trainer wants to put me up a class.

Have you got jumps up in your garden? might ask for some for my birthday in March as Im just using plant pots at the mo.

Darcy has a brilliant sit/stand stay which gives me the chance to start way ahead of her and keep up with her most of the way.;) With the Aframe the trainer initialy put treats down the bottom which helps in making them hit the contact. It worked once and then Darcy just ran straight over to the treats:D
 
That's great, well done. Agility is addictive, I started going to classes 15.5 years ago with my 1st rescue dog, within a couple of years I had another dog and a bigger car. I started competing 11.5 years ago, then I got a tent to go away to shows for the weekend, then another dog and a caravan to go away to more shows at the weekend and week long shows. I now have 4 dogs (did have 5 but lost the oldest earlier this year), really want a van and bigger, newer caravan, but they will have to stay on a wish list for now, and compete at shows most weekends during the summer.
 
BC, I was quite impressed with him for his first go I must admit! Im glad the jumps were tiddley as initially I had to 'showjump' them myself :o

DG, my trainer always tells me how good Tys would be if I stopped getting stuff wrong lol :(

Have requested some agility bits for christmas, the garden will hopefully be awash with colourful seasaws etc in the not to distant future :)
 
Oenoke - i was hoping it would be a cheaper alternative to horse owning and dressage, but it sounds as though that may not be correct lol :p

D is the same, can stick her anywhere and have her catch me up over several obstacles, it's just R and his neurotic tendencies. I was so sick of his inability to stay on Friday that I got someone to hold his collar while I walked off, he started screaming. :o

Thats why I only take Darcy,when brains were being handed out Diesel was in the back row.:rolleyes:
