Took the young horse to her second outing today and she was sooo good!! Was debating whether to go or not as weather was so bad but decided to go anyway and luckily rain and hail held off although it was really windy. She was a bit wired when I got there but calmed down once we were in the warm up and was very well behaved. I just took her into the micro mini class which was just crosspoles and she did a huge jump over the first and then decided to canter into the next and we stayed in a lovely calm and balanced canter for the rest of the course and met each jump perfectly. I'm so proud of her as I've really been working on her flatwork and it seems to have paid off.
Then decided to take the other horse down for the maxi (1m) cos he's been off lame for a few weeks and is only back in a week and he jumped a perfect clear round and not only that but he was so calm and obedient. He can get very strong and it was in a huge arena with the jumps spaced really far apart, just the type of course that he usually gets faster and faster around but he maintained a lovely canter all the way around and was jumping really well. I'm not sure whether it was because he hasn't been jumping for a while or whether it was a new noseband which I had on him but I was very pleased with him. And I didn't get wet which I thought I would looking at the weather forecasts yesterday!! Anyway sorry it's a bit long but I was just so pleased with the two of them I had to share!!
