So I have only jumped freddie flintus 3 times this year and I woke up and thought- lets get the old nag out. So i entered the 2'9ft at Weston Lawns. He warmed up like a mad man and my friend kept shouting at me to put my bum in the saddle as I wasnt riding a race horse (bloody felt like I was)
He went straight in the ring with no nappiness whats so ever and struck of calm and perfectly- then locked onto fence one and woosh we were off. I've stopped trying to get the perfect stride- he does know best. It was single phase and I hit the JO section and just opened him up a little- Very pleased that he took 2 strides to an oxer and nailed it...I was thinking shot- got cocky ran him into a fence just with a bit too much leg and he knocked it down (grrrr) the rest of the round was spot on and he made me very proud of him...the other 3 times I have jumped he has jacked and got very nappy so pleased there was no sillyness...although strong I just sat, held him and kept me legs on.
