Had a horrendous day - Navicular and Osteoarhritis of the hock

It takes the people like cptrayes who are prepared to challenge and move others out of their comfort zone, to change practice.
All I can say, is yes sometimes I used to find cptrayes posts a bit harsh, but they made me begin to think "outside the box". Consequently I had the courage to challenge my vet.
It is as a direct result of cptrayes and other barefoot taliban on this forum, that my pony is alive and mainly sound 1 year after a very bad diagnosis.
THANK YOU CPTRAYES, KEEP THE CHALLENGING POSTS COMING.

TBH I am willing to look at anything that might return either of my horses to work - barefoot, shod or in jimmy choos. Everything has merit and everyone has had bad exp - I had a shocking time with joint injections on my old loan horse so I am very very wary of going down this road but my vets have been brilliant,so has my farrier and I hope that in time my beautiful ginger creature will come back to work and my gorgeous girlie will learn that being ridden isnt painful or if this isnt possible she can live out her days somewhere in peace and quiet.

I have the x rays from the pair of them as well - I cant get them to upload to photobucket but they are on facebook if anyone wants to add me. They dont look amazingly clear (think the resolution has dropped but they may make some sense to someone

I'm really shocked by cptryns posts. How rude. Comments like you just don't get it etc and how happy she assumed that the person was to have a liveries horse pts . Bang out of order. Fwiw I had a horse who hated being shoeless and one now who has never been shod. Seriously hate the arrogance of some of the posts in this thread.

I'm sorry you don't like how I write, but there's an ignore button if you don't like me answering back when people answer a very polite post as if I have insulted them, then accuse me of things I have not said and repeat them when it has been pointed out to them.

Please put me on ignore.

PS I never said anything anywhere about putting a livery's horse to sleep.

I am neither a vet nor a farrier, but I know that most vets and farriers who have kept up to date will confirm exactly what I have written.

I am stating current scientific evidence, why do you have a problem with that?...

Frankly, I feel sorry for your poor livery, whoever s/he is, you are just sitting there waiting for the horse to fail, so it proves you right, aren't you?

cptrayes the final paragraph of your post copied above is the bit that was below the belt/disgusting. You implied that the poster was waiting for a horse to become lame to prove a point. Whilst you may not have said that the poster wanted the horse pts the implications and what it indicates about your mindset are much the same.
