Had a nasty fall (horrible pic, I look like a monster!)

Thank god for my Body Protector and Hat.
I went xc schooling, my horse left a leg on a small jump (just warming up!) tipped me straight over his head, I head butted the ground, I think my hat went into my eye, then my horse stepped on my back when he got up ... I have a small cracked bone on my shoulder blade but no bruising thanks to my bp, but this is my eye, but it could have been my head without a hat on!
I look like a monster - but I can walk and talk - thank god!

A friend did something similar, but not only did she have two black eyes, she had to have her jaw wired and new teeth put in, wasn't pretty.

Just goes to show how vital wearing a hat is, now matter how you fall.

Ouchie - I used my face as a brake when I fell off a few months ago. When you are out andfabout with your OH note how people will look at him in an acusatory manner. I told someone at work I had a fight in a pub, and she belived me until I started to giggle.

I was taken shopping today and lots of people looked and my OH as if to say 'wife beater'! one guy said to me (joking I think) 'you should report him for doing that' I replied 'oh no I like it'! he burst out laughing

It's just a pain as I wanted to do the riding club championships in a couple of weeks and I'm not sure I will be able to now
