Some of you will know my boy is semi feral and we have been having trouble getting a headcollar on him and loads of great advice here, we still don't have one on him BUT..

Today my husband was playing with the headcollar and stroking the boy and having a real positive session, the boy even gave him his left side which no way were we allowed to touch before! Anyway he pricked his ears and attempted to take a pace forward and my husband said no stand and held his chin, what my husband didn't know was his field mates (3 other horses had spooked and galloped off) and our boy attempted to go 3 times with my husband saying no stand and he did!!!! His friends were 2 acres away and he chose to stay with my husband, it was a real OMG moment!:D:D:D:D

So we have a horse we can groom, and a horse who has join up,and a horse who will pick his front feet up if asked, but not one we can restrain haha...... but it was a fab moment, I mean even the best of behaved horses wouldn't always stand when their herd has galloped off:D hehe

Sounds like you're doing brill! Didn't comment on your other recent post as you were getting great advice from others...but I could have written exactly your post last July/August...I was weeks getting near my semi-feral boy with a headcollar...you'll get there! :)

What a handsome chap. Looks like you will have a lot of fun with him.

My 2 were semi ferral and now really easy and it's so rewarding when it's all your own work and the bond is really strong.
