So, had another ODE this weekend, and was hoping it was gonna be better than the last one!! Got there nice and early and walked the cones, which looked quite a nice flowy course.
Then it was the dreaded dressage! Now last week we cantered up the centre line, head in the air or on the floor most of the test, we scored 1's and 2's, and it really was pretty awful!
So we could really only improve!! And improve we did!
He was a little star! still quite overbent, but we are working on it! We had one little mishap, on the extended trot across the diagonal he broke to canter, but other than that...well!!!
Then we went onto the cones, where again he done it well. we had 1.5 penalties, I resume a time fault as we are not over quick, I dont want to hurry him or myself!
He was so good, and after the cones we were in 2nd place out of either 6 or 8!!
Then the marathon. We decided we were only doing section E, a sensible decision in the end as the course was so hilly and I really dont think we are ready for the whole thig yet!!
So, obstacle 1 and 2 went fine, then it was obstacle 3!!! we went in, went round all of the gates, just about to finish when the steward says 'are you competing?' Hmmm....what do you think!!! Oh he says, I dint know so we havent timed you, you will have to do this one again!!!
Which leaves me not a happy bunny!! By the time we had finished it all we were 6 minutes over time, I knew we would be slightly over because, like i say we are not rushing through the obstacles, but most of that 6 minutes was taken up by doing 1 obstacle twice!!
But hey ho, never mind, it was a good day, we now wait for the results as they were having problems with their computer system!!
Had a friend there taking pics, and I just love this one!!
So sorry if they are so big, i will try and work out in the end what i am doing!!
