My main problem was taking 4 year old horsey mad daughter.

She was an absolute nightmare from start to finsish, even treating her to some Dubarry wellies did nothing to improve her mood.

The most embarring bit was when she had a complete melt down, right in fron of Mary King and William Fox-Pitt, talking about influencing people in high places ( they both gave me a knowing smile though :D )

So if anyone else was there and saw a small child in a pink riding hat, making an already harrassed mum, even more so, then that was me, and I promise, I am not normally that grumpy with her.

One funny bit was though when she was kicking off again, I told her that the men were laughing at her and she shouted that they were not, they all replied that' They were' that made me a least laugh for 10 seconds.

I hope any one else that was there had a more productive day than me :(

Oh Bless you :)

Nothing worse to spoil your day than stroppy children :D

I am afraid that in all the years of going to burghley I have never taken my children :D

I am far too selfish and want the whole time to be about me! lol :D

Next year, maybe suggest a day with the grandparents ;)

I have already thought about that. Even though it is only an hour away, I am thinking of being a member next year and going for the whole 4 days and taking a tent and camping on site, and treat it like a mini holiday, god knows I need one :)
