Took another urine sample in this morning and had a phone call back from the vets this afternoon, she said she wanted to scan his kidneys as the sample was no better, and he wasn't getting enough fluid, I said I could bring him in either Tues or Wednesday, but she said no, she wanted him in within the next hour or so. So off we went, and she scanned and couldn't see much of the kidneys, what she could see was ok, but the bladder wall was very thick, and she said it wasn't were it should be

she said he had an intra pelvic bladder, which could be causing the problems or be caused by them. She is ringing her colleague in newmarket for some more ideas as she is totally baffled. She wants him in for the next 48 hours at least so she can try and flush his kidneys through, will have to hope the vet in newmarket has some clue as to what is going on.

Sorry for the ramblings and this should really be in vets, but I am at my wits end, just when I thought he was improving something else happens. My vet is usually very open and chatty, but I can tell she is worried, and really doesn't know what to say about him.

Fingers crossed that you get some answers soon...

Could you possibly take him up to Newmarket for the expert to have a look at him and look at the scans etc?

Just checked in vets to see how he was and was pleased they had changed the antibiotics and thought it was cystitis, so really sorry you have had more complications, fingers crossed for you both

Hope everything is o.k - he sounds like he is in the best hands. Don't worry too much that the vet seems worried - as you mentioned she is probably just concerned that she's never come across this before. At least she is getting advice from a more experienced colleague. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you both.
