Had my first ever gallop today!!

Woooo what a busy weekend. Ponychops moved yards yesterday (well sort of, he's only moved over the road) and has been settling in with his new friends.

Went for a hack this morning with my friend and her pony from the old yard. I am a very nervous hacker, especially on the roads, but I survived the 20 mins of roadwork, and we were then off road for 2 hours and it was FAB! We must have met every possibly vehicle/hazard whilst out today: tractors, buses, cyclists, motorbikes, quad bikes, pedestrians, horses galloping in fields nearby, other horses and riders overtaking us...even a bonfire...and my pony was an angel, I'm so pleased with him

He had a small nappy moment about going in front at one point but he soon gave in

Just before we left the off road bit to go back home through the village we decided to canter up a big sloping field. My friend always goes in front when we canter as my pony doesn't always stop

and they started galloping...so Murphy did too, it was SOOOOO much fun! I was giggling and grinning like a loony

Sorry for self indulgent post but I am very proud of my hairy little pony monster!

it was loads of fun....and very fast, and Murphy felt very powerful (but he waa tired by the top of the field!)

I wouldn't gallop on my previous horse 'cos he was too good at rodeo! Since having Jerry in July, I have galloped him more times in the last 3 years than I have in my whole life - he loves it over the stubble fields at the moment cos the ground is not too hard or too soft.

Thank goodness for manes, they are great for a bit of security when galloping!
