to cut a long story short, my horse hasnt been quite right for past couple of weeks. Changed his diet to something more appopriate, and had his saddle checked, and readjusted on wednesday.

Saddler thought that his back was a littel sore, so is it worth getting the mctimonry person I use to come, or getting some one that does horse massages?

Secondly he is still very sluggish compared to normal. I am not sure if there is something else wrong with him, or if he is just bored with life atm. Is it worth getting the vet to him, or see if he perks up a bit?

If his saddle was causing discomfort, he could well be more reluctant to go forwards. In that situation, I'd have McTimoney. I know that works for my horse. Also, when his back is not right, mine slows right down, sometimes to the point where he refuses to trot! Get his back sorted and if he is still sluggish afterwards take it from there

I'd have McTimoney as well and if they think there is also a muscular problem then they will be able to advise on that and possibly recommend someone. Best to get the bones back in place first though as otherwise they will keep upsetting the muscles.

You know this always makes me laugh - bones don't go out of place!! If they were it would be a major vet problem!

I've noticed my back has got stiff from being hunched over at work - have you had yourself checked out too?

Exactly what my very reputable vet said when i asked him his opinion on 'bone manipulator' practitioners a few years ago . he gave a rye laugh & declared that a horses skeleton is really quite fixed , gave me a very techincal explanation which washed over me

Another recommendation is Bowen.

It has done wonders for the muscles in my boy's back etc after a saddle disaster and I believe that it acts on the horse as a whole - just don't ask me how it works as I don't know but it does

Speak to your vet first as they have to give the go-ahead anyway.
