Took Blue to Duckhurst to do the .95m and possibly the 1.05m. WELL. He was ok in the practice ring... until he tripped after the jump and went right down on to his knees and face so cue me flying on to the floor too... get up spit dirt from mouth and realise his leg it through his reins to start pegging it after him before he breaks the reins!

Manage a clear in the .95 albeit not very tidy and not very in control. So progress to jump off - i had jumped the first round with roundings on a 3 ring on the big ring and the bottom ring but for the jump off i put the roundings on the two bottom rings as i had little control in the first round. He did a lovely jump off nice and steady perfect jumping and we came 6th!

So thought i'd stick him straight in the next one which was another .95m, he on the other hand less than impressed with this idea jumped really really badly the whole way round like the wiggle wiggle and then putting in a massive jump from miles away over pretty much each one. Number 8 i thought he was gonna do the same so kinda prepared myself for a huge jump and he just stopped so i went flying into the jump.

So all in all a pretty crap day wish i'd gone to Brighton with OH instead

think Blue had decided he only does 2 rounds (first and JO) and that doing another one was completely out of the question.

Not sure what to do with him now.

Whether he'll be fine and completely different somewhere else, whether to change his bit or whack the jumps up a bit so he slows and concentrates more or what. To top it off on Sunday i also missed the Leeds Castle thing cos i got there as it finished and then the central locking on my car stopped working

Blimey, and I thought I had back luck!!

But I think wacking the jumps up might help. Arch charges at the smaller fences, but as soon has they get over about 3 foot 3 / 6, he jumps 'properly'!
Good luck and keep us posted. x

Well am gonna try taking him somewhere different over the Summer think a change of scenery might make a difference maybe?

Didn't ride or go into work yesterday as was in a fair bit of pain! Especially my back which isn't good!
