Had The Vet Out Today Instead Of Next Week :)

My horses must be greedy because I just roll the bale into the field and they eat every last scrap. I leave the wrapping on and just roll it down a bit so they can pull the hay out.

In which case you are very lucky - I've adlib fad various groupsof horses without a bale feeder and the waste is phenomenal. The was WITH a bale feeder is high if you don't get the right size. Hence getting one custom made, a bit bigger than normal - we can't have lost more than an armful per bale.

Please tell me you're hayledge isn't wrapped with plastic mesh, and you let them eat it!!!!?? Because they WILL be eating it if you don't take it off. The thick plastic outer would be fine, but if it wasn't for the plastic netting on the inside I too would leave the wrapping on. I can't see how the farmer would make the bales without the plastic mesh. It'd be like letting cats eat wool and I can't think of anything that'd be more likely to give them colic!

Because you have told us it isn't great, and have posted pictures of her in her field...................

my grazing is fine, its in the winter when its crappy, but so is most people's....and in pics you prob see those sections where its been mashed from last winter but theres the rest of the field where they spend most of their days....

Can't reccomend blue chip enough, I have tried D&H build up cubes etc etc with little effect. Blue Chip made so much difference to my skinny tb and really quickly.

Glad to hear that Lady got the all clear from the vet :D
