Some of you may remeber me posting regarding my lads swollen pastern??Vet came today as swollen area was no better,no worse either(still localised)!!Appears to be subcutaneous swelling(basically in human terms a spot that needs to burst

),advised poulticing twice a day and bute until it pops..ewww,lol,was sooo relieved no ligaments etc involved

And update on the disunited canter, vet watched him trot up today...we trotted him up yest and he was using one of his hinds strangely...he checked his back and appears he does have pain in his back(sacro illiac area) and slight pull in the front half of his hock..again nothing serious just needs the physio...she is coming on tues nxt week

Had to share as was convinced it would be bad news....am well relieved

That's a relief.

My mare was diagnosed with severe sacroilliac problems 18 months ago and I was told I'd never ride her again. Fortunately after some rest and a change of diet she's larger than life again and acting like a 4 year old not a 19 year old. Baileys number 4 was my life saver, able to build topline whilst on box rest and then gentle exercise.

Sorry if this is hijacking, just wanted to offer moral support!!!!!

Thats really good news what a relief.Every horse should come with a stress relief self help book dont they put you through it.

My vet has told me on numerous occassions I should be writing a book as my horse has encountered nearly every problem over the last two years and he thinks Im nearly qualified to self diagnose.Maybe we should co write and split the royalties. My friend pointed out a article about someones horse in a magazine about how unlucky she had been I had covered more topics than her I wonder if she was paid for by the magazine ,it would help with the vet costs lol
