Short version of a very long day is that Mattie decided to jump a 4 foot wide fence out of his field!
He cleared it with his front legs and dragged the fence down with his back legs and landed face first and then flipped over. He then got up and legged it across a field full of crops!
Downside is that the cut on his back leg is about half a centimetre deep in places and about 3 inches long but its a bit zig zaggy.
He also put his teeth through his lip so now has a nice chunk missing and grazed all his gums.
Took him to the vets and agreed that his leg couldn't be stitched and it was best left to heal, the same with his lip.
He was given a shot of antibiotics, painkillers and got his tet booster 8 months early!
My vet was wonderful even though Mattie did try to kick him!
On the plus side, he should make a full recovery and is allowed out to play as normal!
He is so lucky he didn't break his leg/back/neck!!
