Haflinger owners, what saddles do you have!?

I have a draught horse of the same sort of height and build (slightly more bone) and she is in a wintec wide which fits her perfectly :)

Mine is similar to the wintec but a Spanish brand, x-wide gullet (bout 9" D-D) and fits him well. It took ages to find one that fit properly though!

My boy is in a WOW saddle, as is him mum. Backed him in a Wintec, which was an ok fit, and afterwards had him in a Kent & Master GP, also an ok fit.
The WOWs are great because they are adjustable.
Good luck with the saddle hunt!
:-)

Liesel has a Thorowgood cob XW, find them better saddles than the wintecs in lots of ways. The breeching 4th girth strap is v handy and it fits her well. Only bought it for breaking and riding away but havent felt the need to change. She went well in a friends ideal H&C too but couldnt afford that! Interestingly she is XXW in the Thorowgood but only XW in the Ideal H&C

It might be worth you trying a Thorowgood cob saddle these have the changeable gullet like the Wintec ones but are more suited to a cob shaped back. I have the Kent and Masters cob GP saddle which is a leather version of the Thorowgood one.

After more than 2 years and 4 saddles that didn't fit my haffie's short, wide, curved back, I've finally solved the problem with a Strada saddle on an L tree. It fits him perfectly and doesn't move at all (side to side or forwards and backwards). It cost a lot but it's worth every penny. I finally have a happy horse who can be ridden without pain and it's lovely to get on him without him tensing his back. Ilga at Strada was unbelievably helpful and happily travelled all the way here to try it on. (I live in a particularly out of the way place.)
