My boy up until recently was kept in a paddock on his own in sight of others. I have now moved him to a yard where he is turned out with three other ponies.

He is reluctant to leave the yard, no napping or anything serious with his behaviour. However, he just plods and it is really difficult to get him going and I was losing the will to live. He has recently gone barefoot and he kidded me he was footsore, gave every indication that that was the case. He is much more active on the return home and sound as a bell.

Today I walked him out in hand. I had him really walking out and he did more work today than in the last week or so, ridden. Didn't do me any harm either.

He was a bit gobsmacked to say the least.
