The control of paces is in a set distance, i think it was 100 metres. It is in a corridor, and it was, firstly to canter as slowly as possible without breaking pace, and then to turn around and walk as quickly as possible without breaking pace. Each is scored with a maximum of 30 points, 60 in total. If you break pace its a "0". We got 27 for the canter and 24 for the walk.
Apparantly according to the judges it is great to have a horse that is good at both, as most get a good score for one pace but a crap score for the other.

I think the next highest score to us was 39, so i was very pleased with 51
