My mare had to have her quarters and around her gaskin area clipped when she was at the vets as they needed to do a bone scan etc, they clipped it on grade 1 i think, this was done last October and no hair has grown back at all,can anyone recommend a product that promotes hair growth please,as i'd like to take her to a few comps but am getting very fed up of people asking me about her unusual clip! they think i did it for fashion! Also i'd like her to be able to do showing again but she won't get placed anywhere with her bottom half shaved!
I also noticed on a tub of cornecrescine that it states it promotes hair growth, never thought that of a hoof ointment before,a bit reluctant to use it!

Yes Ive heard cornecrescine is good for hair growth too. A friend also uses baby oil...

I thought it sounded a bit odd but she swears by it and it does seem to work!

Deffo Cornecrescine - have recommended it in another post - it's messy as hell but very good. Use gloves to put it on - or you'll have yellow/orange cuticles for days!! (although I used to rub it into my nails on purpose to make them grow!)

whatever you use, rub it in circles as this will help the blood flow and thus encourage hair growth.

Megatek rebuilder - best stuff I have ever used - get it from tailgator.co.uk. Smells wonderful, no messy stains and has also made my nails really grow since using it on the boys.

I rub it in every other day to their manes and tails to encourage lots of strong growth.

Cornucrescine is really good for hair growth and is fine to use, I have used it on cuts once they have healed up to help the hair grow back, but I think it would be very messy to use on a large area.

cornucrescine really worked on small bald patches on my boy - the only thing to watch is how it works - it kind of irritates the hair into growing, so for example Sid had bald bits from my nagging legs - those spots became pretty sensitive over the three weeks I used it so I had to be very careful with my legs while I was using it or I ended up on turbohorse.....
