Just a quick one really. Have a horse arrivin Weds to look after for a while. The onlt thing is I only have 3 stables up and running at the mo(in the process of building yard.
I have two little ponies and a TB in each of them. Thought i may temporarily halve one of the 12 ft by 12 ft stables for the ponios, so the big ones would have a whole to themselves.......
They do live out as have ample grazing and shelters so they only come in every other day for a bit of tlc.
Is this a good idea? Thought about using hay bales/straw bales/shaving bales etc just to half it off.
Any ideas till another stables been concreted out??

how big are the ponies? and how well do they get on

a while ago we had two 14hh and 15hh although they were mother and son

but when we were choca block they once doubled up for the week quite happily and loved the extra grooming sesh

but this was only during the day with people around?

friend of mine has done just that on a permanent basis for her 11.2 and 12.2 ponies - divided by wooden boarding. they come in every night all year round and seem fine - they argue a bit every so often, but then one's a mare and the other's a gelding so probably would anyway without living so close to one another!

if ok together then should be fine - if not a riding school i used to work at split their 12x12 stables in half for 12hh ponies and was ok
