Ok. Totally new to the whole dressage idea. Hated being confined and claustrophobic in arenas - much prefer the countryside!

However, trying to be ambitious whilst taking baby steps, so am going to enter an Interdressage test.

I obviously understand 20m circles, 10m etc, serpentines, all the different areas of the school you use.

On my test sheet, it says the following:

'H working trot. E half circle left 20m to B. Working trot to C'

Now, I've done a jolly good diagram of an arena on paper and tried 'riding' it, but I can't figure out this movement! I think I've probably been doing it for years and not realising :o

Any help greatly appreciated! x

Ride as if you're about to go from e off the track into 20m circle but stop circling when you hit the track at b...so you just ride half of a circle :)

Think I thought the same as you first time I read a test with one lol!

You start a 20 metre circle at E but when you get to B instead of completing the 20 m circle you continue on to the outside track ,so have ridden only half of a 20 metre circle.
Hope this is clear enough.

See, I knew it would be simple!

Thanks for making me feel better AprilBlossom! Think I read too much into things!

Will give it a run through tomorrow, wish me luck :) x

Cobrastyle you should have seen the mess I got into with 15 and 10m circles at e and b...my practice sheet looked like a child practising writing the number 8 in joined up writing...badly!lol
