I've been looking for some smart breeches/riding tights for lessons/clinics and noticed that Half Halt Equestrian have recently been bought over and started trading again. I like the look of their technical breggings although they are rather expensive at £70 a pair. I was wondering if anyone has bought them previously and if they would recommend them please?

I haven't heard of them either. As there have been quite a few stories on this forum of dodgy online equine companies it would be a good idea to check they have a proper UK business address (not a PO box, or that they are registered in a different name) and a legitimate UK phone number. It is easy for fraudsters abroad to set up sites that look like legitimate British companies, take your payment and never send goods (as they don't have any and it's a scam). If that all seems legitimate then a Google search might bring up any reviews that have been posted online.

On top of all that, I like to look at instagram tagged photos - seems like there’s quite a few different people tagging their products so odds are it does exist :) the products seem to look of a similar quality to other brands offering the same things, but no personal experience sorry!

I have a pair of leggings - they’re ok, not perfect as the fabric is a bit too thin and stretchy so you don’t get much support but they’re good when it’s very hot

Half Halt Equestrian is the further you could get from dodgy. Was set up by a dressage rider (I won't disclose too much info) and then went quiet for personal reasons. The company was recently sold to a friend of hers and has now started trading again. A very trustworthy company. Can't comment on their breeches but I have several jumpers which are all pretty decent quality.

That's good to hear. It is a shame that customers have to be so careful when shopping online, and it hadn't even occurred to me that scammers might set up fake equine companies until I saw people posting about it. It is a good example of the value of recommendations from a trustworthy source (or asking on here!) :)
